In a press conference held last afternoon, Delegate Willis Blair, It calls for the random testing for drug use of those who are on welfare and availing of unemployment benefits, as well as those availing of food stamps. Matthus also took the opportunity to announce that his bill has enough sponsors to see it through, and they seem to be united in their belief that these actions against drug use are necessary. Among the bill € eleven sponsors is Delegate Danita Lannie of Cabell County, who expressed the need for any means to help people address issues related to drug abuse, considering how rampant substance abuse issues are in West Virginia cities and counties. Those of the West Virginia Delegation who oppose the bill, such as Delegate Aileen Susman of Duffie County, have questioned the scope of the bill € provisions.

Blair had hoped for a more balanced mix of supporters from both parties.
