The current set-up leaves officers vulnerable to nuisance accusers who simply want to do away with them for a few days or to those who want to damage their records. They have no issues against random drug testing for police officers, but are specifically concerned about testing specific individuals on the basis of tips from informants. Changing this will basically make law enforcers somewhat above the law.
