Each state has its own unique terms for the conduct of random testing, and for Kansas, the testing is to be administered to citizens who are receiving cash assistance from the state. This includes child care assistance and temporary assistance for families.

After three failed tests, however, the recipient will no longer be eligible for cash assistance.
