After three failed tests, however, the recipient will no longer be eligible for cash assistance. Other supporters contend further that this bill will ensure that. This includes child care assistance and temporary assistance for families. It does not, however, include the Grandparents-as-caregivers program, which provides cash assistance to low-income grandparents who serve as primary caregivers to their young grandchildren.

The Kansas House voted in favor of the proposal, 99-26, passing the bill on to the Senate for consideration.
